Horizon Fire Details

This is the first really comprehensive report I’ve seen on this tragedy.
It answers many questions I’ve wondered about, and that have not been answered by the lame stream media.
For one, it seems that BP is not the principal responsible party, but should at least share that with Transocean.
I wonder whether they carry insurance, or are, as I expect, self-insured.
The technology required is surely on a par with space technology in complexity as well as in cost.
In fact, the positioning method uses satellites … and I doubt that they pay anything for that service.
I find that to be another argument against the view that space projects are just too costly, and so must be government funded.
On the contrary, my view is that space projects are too costly exactly because they are government (say: taxpayer) funded.
What has to happen for space to become commercially funded is for a reasonable return on investment to be achieved.
And I really believe that is just beginning to happen.
Sir Richard has sold, last I heard, over 200 rides on Space Ship II at $200,000 per ride.
